CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE is the first cause of death in Spain and in developed countries. The Cardiovascular Institute of Alicante (ICA) is formed by a multidisciplinary team of doctors that work together in the integrated handling of this pathology. Approaches range from primary prevention to treatment of vascular disease once diagnosed, whether this is myocardial infarction, cardiac insufficiency, cerebrovascular accident, dementia, renal insufficiency, peripheral arteriopathy… including outpatient and hospital treatment where necessary.

The ICA is made up of the following Units:

 

- Cardiovascular Risk Unit
- Clinical Cardiology and Hemodynamics Unit
- Neurovascular Unit
- Cardiac and Vascular Unit

The numerous specialised areas existing in the Benidorm Clinic Hospital work together with this Institute. Deserving of special mention are the ICU, with its human and technological resources capable of handling any pathology that requires its attention 24 hours a day, and the Radiology Department, composed of experienced radiologists managing equipment of the latest
